FAQ

First time in a studio? No stress. Here's everything you need to know, explained without the tech talk.

Sessions & prices

What can I book, and what does it cost?

Recording + Mixing (€40, 2–4 h): You bring your beat. I record your vocals, including doubles, harmonies and adlibs if you want them, and mix them so they sit right on the beat. Mastering is not included.

Full Song Session (€80 intro price, 4–8 h): From idea to finished song: a custom beat built around your vision, recording, arrangement, mixing and mastering. You get the finished song as a WAV plus all stems.

Need something different, like a raw recording only? Just ask.

I've never recorded before. Is that a problem?

Not at all. That's exactly who I work with. I explain every step as we go, and you can ask anything. Artists I've recorded say the relaxed, no-stress vibe is what they liked most.

What should I bring?

Your beat (ideally as a WAV file), your lyrics, and if you have one, a song that sounds the way you want yours to sound (a "reference track"). That helps more than any description.

How do I book?

Send me a message on Instagram, by email to info@prodbymorpheus.de, or through the contact form. Tell me what you have and what you want, and we'll find a date.

Revisions

Can I request changes after I get my song?

Yes. Included revisions: 2 for Recording + Mixing, 3 for the Full Song Session. Each extra revision costs €15 (Recording + Mixing) or €20 (Full Song Session).

Please send revision requests within 7 days of delivery. After that, or once you've approved the final version in writing, further changes are charged separately.

What counts as a revision, and what doesn't?

Counts as a revision: vocal vs. beat volume, EQ or compression tweaks, effects like reverb and delay, adlibs louder or quieter, small loudness or stereo fixes.

Counts as a new job: a completely new take, new lyrics or a new arrangement, extra parts we didn't plan (another verse, a new hook), or switching to a different beat.

Beats & licenses

What's the difference between a lease and exclusive rights?

A lease lets you use a beat for your song, but other artists can lease the same beat too. With exclusive rights you're the only one, and the beat is taken off sale. The exact terms are in the license you get with every purchase.

Can I record on a beat I bought from you?

Of course. Grab a beat in the New Beats section and book a session. That way the beat and the vocals come from the same studio and fit together from the start.

Studio glossary

The words you'll hear in a session, in plain language.

Recording
Capturing your voice with the microphone. The result is the raw vocal track.
Mixing
Making all the parts sound good together: volume, clarity, effects. Your vocals get placed on the beat so nothing fights for space.
Mastering
The final polish of the finished song: overall loudness and sound, so it plays well on Spotify, in the car and on headphones.
Mixing vs. mastering
Mixing works on the single parts (vocals, drums, bass). Mastering works on the whole finished song at once.
Take
One recording attempt. We usually record several takes and keep the best parts.
Doubles
You sing or rap the same line again, layered under the main vocal to make it sound bigger.
Adlibs
Short extra shouts or words in the background ("yeah", "uh") that add energy.
Stems
The individual tracks of a song (vocals, drums, bass, melody) as separate files.
Bounce / export
Saving the song or a track as an audio file you can play or upload.
BPM & key
BPM is the tempo (beats per minute). The key is the musical scale the beat is in. Both matter if you want to add melodies or harmonies.
Reference track
A song by another artist whose sound you like. It shows me the direction faster than words.
